What is the LifePo4 battery Capacity AH in 5.5kw Solar ESS ?
Want to install a home solar energy storage system? How to choose the battery capacity?
Power (kW) ≠ Energy (kWh)
The battery capacity (Ah) depends on the system's voltage design and energy requirements.
If the system is designed for 5.5kWh (storage energy), the capacity can be calculated directly; if the user's actual demand is 5.5kW power output, the discharge time must be considered (e.g., a 5.5kWh battery is required for 1 hour of discharge).
Ah=Battery Voltage (V)Energy (kWh)×1000
System voltage | Capacity(Ah) | Energy(kWh) | Applicable scenarios |
48V | 115Ah | 5.5kWh | Home Energy Storage |
51.2V | 100Ah | 5.12kWh | Industrial and commercial energy storage |
24V | 230Ah | 5.52kWh | Small off-grid system |
If the system voltage is 48V: According to the formula, a LiFePO4 battery of ~115Ah is required.
If long-term power supply is required: It is recommended to increase the capacity or reduce the depth of discharge (such as choosing a 150Ah battery).
48V battery pack is recommended for home use, and 51.2V for commercial and industrial use! Look for Bonada and easily match the inverter!
